I’d chase the dawn where we once lay,
Your laugh, like light would start my day,
Each moment gone, I’d beg to find,
And see you again outside my mind.
I’d speak the words I left unsaid,
And warm the nights where cold had spread,
Undo the tears I made you cry,
And place the stars back in your sky.
To live again that first sweet glance,
And feel again that awkward dance,
To reclaim the time that I let past,
To hold you close and make it last.
So if the clocks would turn back for me,
I’d write our love in future destiny,
Not just again, but be more complete,
With every heartbeat set to repeat.
