There is a corner of my mind, soft and still,
Where time meanders gently and dreams re-fill,
The sky it has a golden glow,
With silver clouds that hang down low,
The grass it feels silky warm,
It’s the place I come to when my life is torn.
It takes me but a second to arrive in this beautiful place,
Where a contented smile forms across my face,
Shoulders drop and worries dissolve,
The mind goes quiet, so thoughts can evolve,
I can endure so much more with my feet immersed in waters clear,
No heavy heart or pain felt tear.
People I knew both loved and lost, converse with me as over Stix River they’ve crossed,
Giving me comfort, reassurance and belief,
to know that their energy remains, and can penetrate grief,
So when life gets arduous and tough, and feeling positive is just not enough,
I close my eyes and travel far but near, to embrace good life and to vanquish fear.
