A Party Spokesperson Speaks

Please don’t deny, dismiss and deflect,

Just show us a bit more common respect.

Lies pour forth from a silver tongued rogue,

Or as others describe you a slimy rude toad.

Stand tall in the mire of your rotten beliefs,

Wear your shame like a medal, your lies like a wreath,

Each truth you deny when the proof’s in plain view,

Just shows that your morals packed up and withdrew.

Be accountable, be proud of your disgusting achievements,

Persecuting the weak and belittling their bereavements.

The spineless grey people in suits behind desks

Come out and perform, perhaps some lively burlesque?

You try and change the subject: you feel that works well,

But we won’t be fooled, and you can go back to hell.

We must keep you on track bring you back to the facts

Why don’t you see the vitriol your tactic attracts.

You blame the victims or any other group,

Telling fake news and pretend it’s a scoop.

So long as the party are seen to be clean,

You may even claim that burning oil is ever so green

Attack and lash out it’s your last desperate act,

In the playbook of being a complete irksome twat.

The mask is gone, the farce now complete,

You stand ankle deep in your very own deceit.
